Bachelor of Policing The Bachelor of Policing equips graduates with a comprehensive knowledge of policing as a distinct area of academic study. It provides a thorough grounding in the skills required to undertake effective policing or related careers. Students study a range of specialist policing units, and also units of their choice drawn from the behavioural sciences, humanities, human services, law, languages and the social sciences. This will equip graduates with a broad understanding of the role of police in society.
Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science) This is a three year program that produces scientists who have a good background in the biological and chemical sciences, coupled with specialised expertise in forensic science, including methods of forensic analysis, crime scene investigation, forensic photography, finger printing, forensic materials/drug investigations, crime and criminal justice and complex case studies on terrorism, corporate crime, computer crime, money laundering and people smuggling.
Fire Investigation (Masters, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate) These courses aim to develop and increase the knowledge of practitioners in the field of fire investigation. They seek to improve professional standards by the application of knowledge of sound investigative practice together with an understanding of fire dynamics, fire causation and fire setting motives. Criminal Intelligence (Masters, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate) These courses are intended to provide law enforcement and intelligence professionals, whether they are in the police, national security , public or private sectors, with the opportunity to undertake studies at postgraduate level in the area of intelligence. They are designed particularly to meet the growing needs of the intelligence-led paradigm in law enforcement and compliance. The subjects in the course cover a range of areas relevant to promoting sound industry relevant practice in the intelligence officer.
Fraud Investigation (Masters, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate) These courses aim to meet the educational needs of those with responsibility for fraud investigation and prevention in the police, the public and corporate sectors. They have been developed in collaboration with the Commercial Crime Agency of the NSW Police and the private sector.
