Former Australian executive arrested, charged over alleged oil bribery plot – 18 November 2020
A former senior executive from construction giant Leighton Holdings, has been arrested over his alleged involvement in a $1 billion international graft scandal. Russell Waugh is the first of at least three top Australian executives to face charges in connection to the Unaoil conspiracy, which involved bribes paid to ministers and officials in oil producing nations around the world, and which has already led to the jailing or guilty pleas of executives in Europe and the US.

ASIC has announced the former Australian promoter of BitConnect (John Louis Anthony Bigatton) has been charged for his involvement in the folded cryptocurrency project that was accused of scamming millions out of investors. It is alleged that he provided unlicensed financial advice and conducted seminars at various locations around Australia.
