The state government will be deploying a new fleet of state-of-the-art aerial drones (ie with thermal imaging technology, High Def recording cameras etc) They will be used in criminal investigations and search and rescue operations.
Halting illegal cryptocurrency use the focus of major crime conference – 13 November 2019
One of the major focuses of the National Proceeds of Crime Conference being held in Brisbane this week, is cryptocurrency and tech savvy criminals who use the dark web, social media etc. Over the last 10 years the joint Criminal Asset Confiscation Taskforce has seized $435 million in criminal proceeds, some of which was in the form of various cryptocurrencies.

NAB admits to hundreds of NCCP breaches – 13 November 2019
NAB has admitted to 255 out of 297 alleged breaches of the Credit Act arising from a controversial home loan referral program. The maximum penalty for one breach of S31(1) is 1.7to 1.8mil. The Federal Court is yet to deliver its judgement.

Former Event Cinemas general manager guilty of $150,000 credit card fraud – 12 November 2019
Garth Weiley, the former general manager of Event Cinemas at Glendale and Kotara used a corporate credit to make $150,000 worth of fraudulent payments to three of his own personal businesses over a more than seven-year period.
