Whistleblowers haven’t received sufficient recognition for their role in stopping tax dodging. But if the findings from corporate fraud apply, then they may be as vital as auditors and financial regulators put together. It’s time we protected – and rewarded – those who tell the truth about tax evasion.

Due to the scale of cryptocurrency,(ie being a currency, asset, infrastructure etc) it makes holistic regulation difficult. These factors may currently be inhibiting regulatory changes. Global cryptocurrency-bodies are instead consolidating around cryptocurrency standards.

Blockchain forensics firm Chainalysis, has revealed that just two hacking groups are behind about $1 billion in cryptocurrency thefts – more than half the amount stolen in the last two years.
